Acne Cysts - Needs Immediate Treatment

Acne cysts are acne filled with pus. Acne cyst is a form of acne vulgaris. Why does this happen? If acne is untreated in the initial stage, it grows in cysts or nodules that fill with pus.

The common cause of acne is the release of the hormones known as endrogen that stimulates the sebaceous gland to produce a lot of sebum, or natural oil in our body. This natural oil mixes itself with the dead skin cells, and bacteria, and erupts in the form of acne. Acne is common in teenage period, during pregnancy, and also among adults who suffer from hormonal imbalance.

When acne persists for a long time, the bacteria and dead cells spread around, and further affect the skin by causing cysts.

How To Identify An Acne Cyst?

An acne cyst looks like small red bump that is filled with pus cells. To make the condition worst, cysts are painful, highly inflammable, and leave deep scars. Intense acne cysts make our face look ugly with red patches, and uneven skin. If left untreated, these cysts can cause pothole like scars on the face. What's more, these scars can remain on our face for a lifetime.

Treating Cysts

Cysts caused by acne are not easy and quick to treat. They take sometime to disappear. The amount of infection that exists in the cysts is also quite a lot, and takes time to disappear. However it is of utmost importance to treat cysts on time in order to avoid scars and blemishes. If the cysts remains untreated they are bound to rupture and cause potholes on your skin surface.

You should make it a point to start treating the cysts as soon as you discover them. Because you have already delayed the treatment of acne that has developed in cysts, it is not advisable to delay this any further.

Visit a good dermatologist for treatment. Avoid any non-reputed source of treatment that might aggravate the situation further. Acne cysts are generally treated with medicines containing Istretinonin. Istretinonin is very effective as in 90% of the cases the cysts fade away with the help of this medicine. But we need to keep a lot of patience because it takes almost 3 weeks for the results to show.

Although medicine containing Istretinonin is the exact cure of acne, it is not advisable for pregnant women as it can have damaging effects on the fetus.

Cysts can be avoided by treating the acne when they occur. Acne that is left untreated grows into cysts. It is better to prevent acne cyst than to treat it, because even after the treatment some scars might remain.
